Mental health program to be featured at Rangers’ game Tuesday

The campaign is aimed to educate players and fans about mental health and suicide prevention.

Each OHL team is linked up with a mental health coach who provides support to players in need.

A CMHA-run kiosk will be setup so fans can learn more about mental health, videos featuring Rangers players talking about the importance of mental health and public address announcements will be made as well.

Megan Brady is a communications specialist at the Waterloo Wellington Branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association and she tells us it’s to help start the conversation.

“Fans can come up to us and speak to us about mental health,” says Brady, “they can also learn more about the training and workshops that we offer in the community as well.”

It’s the third straight year that the Rangers are teaming up with the Canadian Mental Health Association for this event.

The Rangers host the IceDogs Tuesday. 570 NEWS has the pre-game show at 6:35 p.m.
