Laurier Golden Hawks men’s football team take on Carleton Ravens

The Laurier Golden Hawks men’s football team find themselves in Ottawa this afternoon.

They are taking on the number four ranked team in the country, the Carleton Ravens.

Head coach Michael Faulds says, it will be easy for his guys to get pumped for this game.

“We know we are going to get Carleton’s best, that’s why they are the number four team in the country,” says Faulds, “They’ve got some very talented weapons. They have a good quarterback in Jesse Mills, some talented weapons like Nate Behar and Jayde Rowe on offense. They’ve got a talented and fast athletic defence.”

Laurier is coming off a bye week but still managed to move up the CIS top ten ranking to number seven in the country earlier this week.

Earlier this week, Golden Hawks defensive linebacker Kwaku Boateng was named the top-ranked CIS player on the initial prospect list released by the CFL’s Scouting Bureau in advance of the 2017 CFL draft.

Laurier remain tied at the top of the OUA standings with the Ottawa Gee-Gees.

Kick-off is set for 1 p.m.
