The Hespeler Market in Cambridge is celebrating it’s Grand Opening today.
Last week was the soft launch and hundred of Hespelerites showed up to support locally grown food.
Jackie Bowness is the committee chair of the Hespeler Village Market and she tells us vendors sold out of product before the soft launch ended.
“Our vendors sold out in a matter of hours with the amazing people of Hespeler and the great response that we had and we are really looking forward to the Grand Opening.”
The Hespeler market is going to focus on local vendors only.
“Our market is going to focused on local vendors only,” says Bowness, “we are looking at one-hundred per cent local within a 100-kilometre radius of Hespeler and they will be strictly producers and farmers.”
They will feature twelve vendors during their Grand Opening but Bowness says, the goal is to keep this market growing.
“We will have twelve vendors,” says Bowness, ” we are aiming to just keep growing. Our goal for this summer was to have twenty and I think we will be hitting that very soon.”
