Rodney Stafford joins search efforts for Kaden Young, OPP divers return to Grand River

An emotional search continues near Grand Valley this weekend, and the father of a child murder victim is now joining the efforts.
Rodney Stafford shared his intentions last week, as it marked nine years since his daughter Tori was abducted and murdered.
In a Facebook post, Stafford says, “On such a horrible day for myself and my family, I can’t help but think of little Kaden Young.”
The three-year-old boy was swept into the Grand River last February just west of Orangeville, and search efforts for his body or clues have come up empty handed.
Stafford will join the community search at 9 a.m., on Saturday, just as OPP dive teams also return to the water.
Their work was postponed last weekend due to the weather, and efforts have been slowly pulled back due to a lack of evidence.

Nine years, where has the time gone. Victoria has now been gone for longer than the precious time we were able to share with her. On such a horrible day for myself and my family, I can’t help but think of little Kaden Young. Who has yet to be brought home to his family. Please, imagine what it feels like to have your child walk out of sight…..for even thirty seconds. Now picture that stressed feeling and double it each passing day. I give Kaden’s family all the credit in the world for continuing their search. We are not the only families to lose loved ones and I clearly understand this, so if families can come together to better understand and cope with these tragic events, we become a stronger and more solid foundation for each other.
I am wanting to do what I can, so here goes…. I would like to personally invite anyone and everyone who can give us a day to help search for and find this little boy to come out again, or for the first time to aide in the search.
