Suspected impaired driver loses control, vehicle crashes into Kitchener home

Not the wake up call residents of a Kitchener home were expecting on Sunday.

Regional Police say a vehicle crashed into a triplex on Stirling Avenue South, just before 3 a.m., forcing its evacuation.

Police say an alleged impaired driver struck a number of parked vehicles on the driveway, before crashing his car into the front of the house.

The male driver sustained minor injuries, while no one inside was hurt in the incident. The man was arrested and charges are pending.

Although it’s not known yet to what extent the structure suffered damage, the residents were moved out of the home as a precautionary measure.

Stirling Avenue was closed for several hours between St Clair and Pleasant Avenues for cleanup and a police investigation.
