Kitchener trucker charged after rollover shuts down WB 401 near London

A trucker from Kitchener has been charged for a rollover that shut down part of Highway 401 for about five hours Thursday morning.

Elgin County OPP say it happened west of London around 5:45 a.m., near Iona Road.

The driver allegedly lost control, and his truck went into the centre median and rolled over. The truck then spilled a load of scrap metal, and forced the shut down of all westbound 401 lanes.

No one was hurt.

Police say 45-year old Trevor Simms has been charged with careless driving.
