More snow today followed by wintry mix on Sunday

Get ready for another bout of winter weather.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Waterloo Region and Southern Wellington County, as yet another round of snow is expected to develop across most of the southern province on Saturday.

The snow, which could be heavy at times, will continue throughout the day, with five to 10 centimetres expected to hit the region before nightfall. Saturday evening will bring a lull between snow systems.

Several additional centimetres are forecast to fall on Sunday, and that’s not all — the weather agency warns freezing rain and ice pellets are also a possibility.

But some good news — conditions will improve Sunday evening, clearing to mainly fair weather for your Monday morning commute.
