Weather warnings have ended, cold returns Tuesday afternoon

Environment Canada has lifted a special weather statement for Waterloo Region.

Heavy rainfall and thunderstorms moved through the area Monday night and into Tuesday morning.

We are expecting the temperature to rise to 6 this morning, before it drops off to freezing this afternoon with flurries in the forecast.

The Grand River Conservation Authority is monitoring local waterways, given the mild temperatures and all this rain.

It says ice jams remain in place along the Grand River in the Blair and Preston areas of Cambridge, as well as at Cayuga and Brantford.

It’s urging caution near local waterways, with river flows expected to stay above normal over the next few days.
