Charges laid in Preston shooting

A 65-year-old Cambridge man is facing a charge of attempted murder in connection to a shooting in the Preston area last week.

Upwards of five shots rang out in the Eagle and Vine neighbourhood on Thursday.

A number of people were inside the house where the shots were fired at, but no one was hurt.

Schools in the area were also briefly put into hold and secure while police were on scene.

The man, who surrendered to police, also faces weapons charges. His name has not been released.

He’s expected in court on Wednesday.
