University of Guelph student crowned 49th Miss Oktoberfest

It’s almost as important as the title of mayor, chief or chair — it’s Miss Oktoberfest.
Last night, at a black tie gala at Lot 42 in Kitchener, a new one was crowned.
Mikaila Emrich won the right and becomes the 49th Miss Oktoberfest since the festival’s inception.
The 21-year-old commerce student from the University of Guelph has been involved in the local business community for a very long time.
She’s also volunteered her time for the past seven years with the festival, as part of the German Dance Group.
