One dead, young boy injured after crash in Cambridge

Regional Police are investigating after a fatal crash on Barrie Street in Cambridge.

They say it happened early Friday afternoon between Churchill Drive and Cedar Street.

It’s alleged that a woman driving an SUV made a left turn at a stop sign, and ultimately struck an elderly woman and her grandson who were crossing the road.

Police say the woman that was struck has died in hospital, and the young boy is being treated for minor injuries.

There’s no current word on whether any charges are pending.

The intersection of Barrie and Churchill, and Churchill from Barrie Aberdeen, was closed until 6 p.m. as investigators were on scene.
