Police search for vehicle in case of missing Six Nations man believed dead

The OPP may have caught a break as they investigate the disappearance of a First Nations man, with a 17-year-old girl facing a second degree murder charge.

48-year old Douglas Hill has been missing from Six Nations of The Grand River Territory since late June.

Constable Ed Sanchuk tells 570 NEWS they’re now looking for a missing vehicle: a dark-coloured Chevrolet or GMC SUV, with dark tinted windows and possible front end damage.

“So we’re looking to speak with anyone that may have information on the direction of travel of this vehicle,” he says. “[It] could have traveled throughout Chippewa of the Thames First Nation, Muncey, Ontario and Oneida First Nations.”

The vehicle was last seen on Saturday June 24, in the area of Sutherland Road, also known as Chippewa Road or Sideroad 8, on the Chippewa of the Thames First Nation.

Sanchuk is not speculating if the front end damage to the truck is related to Hill’s supposed death.

A woman from Brantford is also charged in this case. She faces one count of accessory after the fact to murder.

Police believe he is dead, but they still have not found his body.

Hill is described as an Indigenous male, 5’5″ and 167 lbs, with long, dark hair in a ponytail, prescription glasses and facial hair with a tattoo of a feather on his right cheek.
