Two teens hurt after being pulled over dam on Grand River

Provincial police say two teens had a close call after tumbling over a dam near Elora.

Police say the incident took place when the teens were swimming in the Grand River at Bissell Park late Wednesday afternoon.

They say the teens were swimming upstream from the dam when a strong current pulled them right over.

Police say the teens tumbled about 4.5 metres onto the concrete base of the dam.

They were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are reminding swimmers to stay within designated areas on local waterways and to obey posted signs.
