A Canada-wide warrant has been issued for a man who failed to return to a halfway house in Kitchener on May 19.
Police say Christian Perry is serving a three year and seven month sentence for drug, weapons and property crime offences, but was given statutory release from a federal jail in Kingston last November.
Detective Constable Steve Sermet, of the Repeat Offenders Parole Squad (ROPE), says there’s always the potential Perry could be violent, so if you see him, do not approach and call police.
“I don’t like saying that he’s not dangerous. That’s why I always recommend do not approach him … depending on what the individual’s thinking,” Sermet says. “With the offences — the drugs and the weapons — don’t approach him, just call police.”
Perry is described as a 30-year-old white man, 6’2″, around 242 lbs, with blond, possibly shaved hair and blue eyes.
He’s known to frequent Waterloo Region, Toronto, Hamilton and Brantford.
“We’re asking for any assistance from the public. If they located him please call 911,” Sermet says. “Just notify police and give the best description you possibly can, and hopefully we can apprehend him safely.”
Anyone having contact with this offender or information in regards to their whereabouts is asked to contact the Provincial R.O.P.E .Squad at 416-808-5900 or toll free at 1-866-870-ROPE (7673) or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or call 9-1-1.
