Police credit naloxone given by officer for saving man’s life

A 40-year-old man is alive, after Regional Police say one of their officers administered an overdose-reversing drug last night.

Police say the man had no vital signs when the officer responded to reports of an opioid overdose on Concession Street in Cambridge just after 7 p.m.

The officer administered Narcan or Naloxone nasal spray as its better known when CPR failed.

The man was taken to Cambridge Memorial Hospital, and has since been released.
