Cambridge Mayor highlights downtown development in State of the City address

Cambridge Mayor Doug Craig gave an update on how the city is doing in his State of the City Address Thursday.
His speech focused on downtown development in the Gaslight District and development in the Hespeler area.
However, Craig says the city still needs provincial and federal help.
“We can’t live up to the expectations of our citizens because we are so hampered by a lack of income. If we had that income, we would be building more affordable house and more parks and trails.”
The mayor says transit is one of the biggest challenges Cambridge faces, but he’s ready to tackle it head on.
