MPP Harris opens Kitchener-Conestoga town hall series

You can have your say on provincial issues this afternoon in Breslau.

Kitchener-Conestoga MPP Michael Harris is kicking off a series of four town halls across his riding, in a move he says is an “opportunity for constituents to come and ask any question they may have on their mind.”

The first town hall takes place Tuesday, April 18th, from 2-4pm at the Breslau Community Centre.

Harris says he’s heard a number of concerns from his constituents already, from housing affordability to hydro rates.

“We’re in the mess today, frankly, simply because of the Liberal government’s inability to manage our hydro system — signing lucrative contracts for green energy at a significant surplus that has now led to some of the highest hydro rates in North America,” says Harris.

The town hall comes as Premier Kathleen Wynne promises affordability measures are on the way.

“Our party has put forward some immediate suggestions to cool the marketplace,” says Harris, “but it’s something that’s on people’s minds — ensuring that [people] that want to raise their family in the Region have an affordable option.”
