The Region of Waterloo has reached a tentative deal with its 131 public health nurses.
The deal still needs to be ratified. No word yet on when the deal will be voted on.
Those nurses, represented by the Ontario Nurses Association, would have been in a legal strike position as of Wednesday morning.
The region says with a tentative deal in place, there will be no disruption to services.
“This is something, long and hard, coming together, so we’ll have to wait and see, but that’s where we are at right now.” said Vicki McKenna, First Vice-President of the Ontario Nurses Association.
McKenna adds ratification will likely happen next week.
