Waterloo Region has longest drive time in country

Waterloo Region is number one, but not in a good way.

New data suggests Waterloo Region motorists face the highest drive time in all of Canada.

The numbers come from the Waze traffic app, which collects the information and then crunches the numbers.

The report for the month of February, showed the average drive time here was 53 minutes.

Compared that Toronto, where it was 31 minutes and Montreal was 38.

The head of Waze app marketing, Cailin LaVallee, says the worst day for traffic is Friday – “There’s no determined reason why, from this data, it’s just good for people to be aware.”

The report also suggests Wednesday was the worst day last month in terms of collisions.
