Kitchener man arrested after alleged arson attempt

Police in Kitchener arrested a man Thursday after he tried to torch a home on Sydney Street North in Kitchener.
It happened around 4 p.m., Thursday afternoon.
When Police arrived, the man began dumping gasoline on himself, but police were able to arrest him before any harm was done.
A 59-year-old Waterloo man is being held for a bail hearing, he is charged with attempted arson endangering life, uttering threats and assaulting a police officer.
Police say the suspect and victims were known to each other.
