OPP cautioning snowmobilers

After six recent snowmobile deaths the OPP are urging riders to stop taking unnecessary risks.

Police say the deaths were caused by driver behaviour and are completely preventable.

Some of the behaviours include sledding on unsafe ice, speeding and riding while impaired.

In one crash last week, an 11-year old girl died after being struck by a transport truck as she attempted to cross a major highway.

In total, there have been 13 snowmobile deaths in Ontario this season.
