Woman charged after hitting parked car in Kitchener

A 39-year-old woman faces charges after police say she drove through a closed intersection, causing a lot of damage and hitting another vehicle.

Police were called Monday night.

They say the white Hyundai broke through the closed road signs and fencing at King Street East and Frederick Street in Kitchener and then launched over a two-foot deep culvert before hitting a parked car on the other side.

A 61-year-old Cambridge man was in the parked car.

The driver tried to flee the scene but was found a short time later and charged. She had minor injuries.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Regional Police.
