STORY/AUDIO: Frank Hora returns to the Kitchener Rangers

The Kitchener Rangers blueline is getting a big boost ahead of facing the Flint Firebirds Friday.

Defenseman Frank Hora is back from a stint in the American Hockey League.

The overager signed a 25-game professional tryout with the Cleveland Monsters, the defending Calder Cup champions, on October 13th.

He suited up in three games for the Columbus Blue Jackets AHL affiliate, racking up one assist and four penalty minutes, and says it was exciting to be part of a winning culture, not only here in Kitchener, but down in Cleveland as well.

“It’s just a professional team down there. A lot of great players. They won a championship last year so a lot of champions on that team. You take a lot to learn from them. They know how to do it. They know what to do to win,” said Hora.

With the return of Hora, General Manager Murray Hiebert will need to do some roster juggling.

Each OHL team is only allowed to dress three overage players per game. The Rangers currently have four on their active roster in Darby Llewellyn, Dawson Carty, Dylan Di Perna, and Hora.

Hora will be in uniform Friday when the Rangers host the Firebirds at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium.

570 News will broadcast the game live starting at 7 p.m.
