Some areas could see snow Thursday

It’s about that time of year where you’ll need to break out the scarves and mittens.

While winter doesn’t officially arrive until mid to late December, some chilly weather has moved into southern Ontario and snow is in the forecast.

570 News Weather Specialist John Wilson is calling for rain to develop later today which will then change over to wet snow tonight.

He says most of it will melt on contact with the ground, but some areas to the north of K-W could be looking at a few centimetres of snow.

If you are heading east, be warned.

15 centimetres or half a foot of snow is expected along the eastern end of Lake Ontario.

As for the temperature, we are only expecting highs in the 4 or 5 degree range today and tomorrow, but the mercury rises Friday and into Saturday, with highs in the double digits for the weekend.
