Carty makes 44 saves shutting out the Hamilton Bulldogs 2-0

Dawson Carty picked up his first shutout of the season, making 44 saves as the Kitchener Rangers blanked the Hamilton Bulldogs 2-nothing at home Friday night.

The Rangers picked up both of their goals on the power play, with Connor Bunnaman finding the back of the net in the first period.

”It’s good to get a few points after you miss a game but that was a big win especially coming back from London so it’s good that we held 2-nothing here.”

Bunnaman gave credit to his goaltender after the game.

“Dawson is amazing, but we are all little kids here so it’s pretty easy to get up for a game even after a tough loss.”

Head Coach Jay McKee tells us why he opted to give Carty the start on back to back nights.

“Carty came into the office, and we were debating as a staff, what we wanted to do, he walked in and I looked at him and he asked who was playing, (…) he said he would absolutely play so he kind of took the bull by the horns.”

Carty will face his former team, the Mississauga Steelheads, tomorrow afternoon.
