Darryl Dahmer, our eye in the sky for 43 years

You hear him every morning and afternoon during your commute on 570 News and our very own Darryl Dahmer is celebrating 43 years with Rogers Radio.

In 1973, Waterloo Lutheran University is renamed Wilfrid Laurier University, work started on the construction of the CN Tower, and our very own Darryl Dahmer took to the sky to bring you airborne traffic for the first time.

He has been providing those reports for the last four decades.

He tells 570 News the advantage of taking to the sky to provide accurate and timely information.

“I have a 360 degree view and I can take in so much information in five seconds that would take much longer if on the ground. The best way to do traffic is from the air, you get a unique perspective.”

After 43 years, Darryl says he still loves what he does.

“I have the best job in the world! Someone pays me to do what I love.”
