City of Kitchener holds public consultation on backyard chicken bylaw

As the City of Kitchener reviews whether or not to allow residents to raise chickens within the city, one of two public consultations is being held tonight.

Under the current animal control bylaw, backyard chicken coops are not allowed.

Tonight’s meeting hopes to collect feedback about whether or not allowing chickens on residential properties is something people would like to see in Kitchener.

If you’re interested you can drop by the Country Hills Community Centre from 7 p.m.- 9 p.m.

The second public meeting will be held on Monday from 1 p.m.- 3 p.m. at the Kitchener Auditorium.
