Driver charged in truck crash on QEW in Burlington

A truck driver has been charged with careless driving after a single-vehicle crash on the Toronto-bound QEW in Burlingon, Ontario provincial police say.

The driver of a dump hit a guard rail near Brant Street before 5 a.m. on Monday.

The crash caused the truck’s fuel tank to rupture, spilling around 400 litres of diesel on the highway.

No injuries were reported.

At one point, all lanes were closed, but they have since reopened. However, the cleanup continues on the right shoulder.
