Impaired driver charged after 10-year-old skateboarder hit in Guelph

A 10-year-old boy is recovering in the hospital after being struck by a vehicle in Guelph.

Police say the boy was skateboarding on the side of Yorkshire Street on Monday evening, when he was hit by a vehicle and thrown over 10 feet through the air before landing on the road.

The boy was taken to the hospital with a broken leg.

Police say their investigation is ongoing.

A 22-year-old Guelph man has been charged with driving with over 80 mgs causing bodily harm.
