Road projects on hold for LRT

A number of regional road projects are getting the red light in the hopes to minimize additions detours as LRT work takes over our roadways.
One of those project being pushed back is the $5.8 million installation of a roundabout at Ottawa Street and Alpine Road in Kitchener which is now set to begin in 2017.
The Record reports Councillor Tom Galloway says the deferring of projects is a matter of trying to minimize the amount of inconvenience and detours.
He adds that with so much LRT construction already in the region, they don’t want to exacerbate the situation by doing road projects that could wait another year or two.
