North Dumfries Township has declared Saturday – “Ayr Centennials Day”.
The Centennials won their first Schmalz Cup, sweeping Port Hope last Friday.
There will be a parade through the village starting at 2pm on Saturday (starts at 7 Church Street), to be followed by free public skating at the North Dumfries Community Centre from 3 until 5pm.
The head coach of the Cents, Cody Hall says the community support has been amazing: “It’s awesome for the fans…kids that look up to our players and it’s awesome for our players to be role models within the community.
He says lifetime bonds have now been formed among the players and team’s staff. “It’s a once in a lifetime experience…It’s an awesome feeling.”
