Cambridge bus driver and fire fighter charged in two separate crashes

A local bus driver has been charged after getting into a crash in Cambridge with 14 students on board.

It happened yesterday morning on Hespeler Road and the Maplegrove Road intersection.

The 72-year-old bus driver made a left turn in front of a tractor trailer which was travelling south on Hespeler approaching the intersection.

No one was seriously injured in the crash. However, while emergency crews responded to the crash a Cambridge fire truck got into a crash with a Honda CRV near Hespeler at the eastbound 401 ramp.

The Honda driver was taken to the hospital for assessment and was later released.

A 53-year-old Cambridge fire fighter has been charged with careless driving.
