Special teams were the difference as the Kitchener Rangers saw their four game winning streak snapped by the Greyhounds in Sault Ste. Marie on Sunday afternoon.
The final was 6-3 in favour of the Hounds.
Connor Bunnaman, Nick Magyar and David Miller scored Kitchener’s goals. Luke Richardson allowed five goals on 33 shots.
Rangers Head Coach Mike Van Ryn says his team made a lot of mental mistakes: “You know they (Soo) had one game on Friday, they got a day off and played us. We knew it was going to be hard. I thought the guys worked hard, we just weren’t smart, which is somewhat to be expected.”
“We made a lot of errors, could have been fixed. I’m not going to blame it on how we were tired…could have be avoided.” Bunnaman added.
Rangers travel to Sarnia on Wednesday. 570 News will have the pre-game show at 6:35pm.
