TEDxUW being held at CIGI today

You’ve mostly likely heard of TED Talks – an opportunity for live speakers to share thought provoking ideas and generate discussion.

The University of Waterloo has organized a similar event – TEDxUW – which is a local, independently organized TED event being held at the Centre for International Governance Innovation in Waterloo.

The is the fourth year that UW students have come together to organize the event.

Speakers from all walks of life, some with a Waterloo connection, will present their ideas to a crowd of 100.

Co-President Trishala Pillai tells 570 News that the theme of this year is collaboration and how people can work together to accomplish great tasks.

“We really hope to use this event as a catalyst to encourage more people to collaborate with others – especially in a world that is so competitive in nature.”

You can check out the live stream of the event starting at 1 pm.

A full list of speakers can be found here.
