New report shows higher single-detached and townhouse starts in Waterloo Region

October was an okay month for construction in Waterloo Region.
Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation reports starts totaled close to 3,500 units in October up from just under 3,400 in September.
It credits higher single-detached and townhouse starts while apartment starts trended lower.
CMHC Senior Market Analyst Erica McLerie says, “A tight resale market has meant more spill-over of demand to the new home ownership market, boosting demand particularly for new single-detached homes and townhouses.”
