Police rescue two kittens from burlap sack in vehicle

The Woodstock Police Service are investigating a case of animal cruelty after two kittens were rescued from a burlap bag.

Police were called to a business on Norwich Avenue early Monday morning after someone claimed they observed a male driving a red pickup truck through the drive-thru with a sack full of kittens in the back.

Police were able to rescue two kittens and they were taken to a nearby Veterinary clinic. Officials said the kittens had elevated body temperatures but are now in fair condition.

The S.P.C.A and Hillside Kennels will follow up with the after care of the kittens and will further investigate this incident.

A 51-year-old man from Norwich has been charged with Causing Animals to Suffer.

The business owner has offered to pay for any expenses surrounding care for the two kittens.
