Competition at the Pan Am Games in Toronto begins today, with the opening ceremony set for Friday.
This week, 570 News is featuring some of the athletes from Waterloo Region.
Martin Rygielski of St. Clements will be competing in judo. That event starts Saturday, July 11th in Mississauga.

The 19-year-old recently claimed national titles in both the U-21 and senior divisions. In January, he won the Elite 8 Competition.
