Premier Wynne speaks at CIGI

Our Premier was at CIGI today speaking to prosperity and sustainability in our province.

“There is a lot of information that would suggest, people in Ontario are much more aware, and much more concerned about future sustainability, than even 20 years ago.”

Wynne says our leaders need to renew Canadian federalism.

“By building a new economic union,” says Wynne. “One that allows us to thrive in the 21st century, just the way the social union, created in the 1960’s, delivered Medicare, thee Canada Pension Plan and sustained 50 years of growth and prosperity.”

Kathleen Wynne spoke about how hard it is to remain prosperous, while burning fossil fuels

She says a recent report showed 84 per cent of Canadians believe a country as rich as ours, has an obligation to take on an international role when it comes to reducing emotions.

“It’s accepted that our trajectory is not sustainable. Keep burning, and the only thing about our future prosperity is that it will look different. But if we want to do things differently, we can regain control,” says Wynne.

She points to reducing emotions, as a way of remaining prosperous.
