Former Kitchener Rangers fwd. David Clarkson sidelined 4-6 weeks

David Clarkson’s fresh start has been hampered by the Columbus Blue Jackets’ injury bug.

The former Kitchener Rangers winger, who was acquired from Toronto in exchange for the injured Nathan Horton days before the trade deadline, will be sidelined four-to-six weeks due to a torn oblique muscle suffered in Tuesday night’s game against the Washington Capitals, the team announced.

The 30-year-old collected 14 penalty minutes and no points in three games with the Blue Jackets. Depending on the speed of his recovery, he could be out for the season.

The right winger was charged with a 10-minute misconduct for his actions in a second-period scrum Tuesday and never returned to the game.
