United Way K-W surpasses fundraising goal

Some good news for local groups making a difference in Kitchener-Waterloo, groups and organizations that rely on funding from the United Way for its’ programs.

The United Way of K-W says it has hit its’ 2014 fundraising goal of “$5 million and then some”.

Friday morning, community members and businesses were honoured at the Community Spirit Awards at the Waterloo Inn.

 

CEO Jan Varner says they are thrilled with the results and the generous community support this year.

She says achieving fundraising goals are not only important but necessary to those needing help in our community.
