Rally held at Kitchener’s Everest College campus

Students and staff locked out of Kitchener’s Everest College rallied in front of the Gaukel Street campus Tuesday morning.

One of the participants says the protest is aimed at convincing the province to temporarily lift its suspension of operations at the school, so that students can finish their programs.

Students have been offered money from the province to refund any portion of programs not yet completed.

The protesters say if the province does not re-open the colleges, they want the suspension lifted so that the campuses across Ontario can be purchased and continue to operate under new management.
