Waterloo woman on Season 2 of MasterChef Canada

A local food lover is making her name known in a big way.

Clarissa Diokno is one of the finalists on Season 2 of MasterChef Canada which airs this Sunday night after the Super Bowl.

She tells 570 News that since being on the show, she’s started her own business in Kitchener-Waterloo where she cooks for people in their homes – something she never thought she would be doing.

“It’s kind of a personal chef position…I cook in bulk so they have 4 days worth of food and it’s great! It’s really fun for me.”

She adds being on the show inspired her to keep cooking.

“It was honestly the most amazing experience in my life, I’ve learned so much, I’ve met so many amazing cooks, it was just a fantastic experience overall.”

As for now, she can’t wait for her family and friends to watch.

“I’m not nervous, I’m super excited! I’ve been waiting months for this!”

Diokno says her dream is to open a small Filipino restaurant in Waterloo. The business would serve as a restaurant by day and karaoke bar by night.

MasterChef Canada Season 2 premieres Sunday, February 1 after the Super Bowl on CTV.
