$120,000 in funding approved for THEMUSEUM

Funding has been approved for THEMUSEUM in downtown Kitchener in the amount of $120,000.

THEMUSEUM has been receiving the same amount for the past five yearS, and it’s usually given within the first month of the year, when cashflow is the tightest.

This year, as there was an election recently, things were delayed by a month or so, which is why CEO with THEMUSEUM David Marskell says they had asked the city for funding early.

Marskell says the $120,000 dollars is about equal to the amount paid for things like hydro and heat to keep everything running.

It’s also about cashflow and having that funding coming in early in the year allows us to plan better for the year. When we book exhibits into next fall and early 2016, many of these organization want significant down payments.”

Exhibits have included things like Egypt, a 3,000 year old mummy, an exhibit by Yoko Ono and the Titanic.
