New mayors on board for improved GO service from Kitchener

A new voice has been added the crowd in support of two-way all-day GO trains between Kitchener and Toronto.

Brampton’s new mayor, Linda Jeffrey says it’s important to keep a strong connection between regional economies.

The new mayors of Kitchener, Waterloo, Guelph and the re-elected Regional Chair also re-confirmed their commitment to two-way all-day GO train service.

The increased service between Kitchener and Toronto would include two additional morning and afternoon trips by 2016.

The province has made budget commitments to build a new train layover facility in Kitchener as well.

32,000 trips are made daily each way between Waterloo Region and Guelph.
