Oktoberfest welcomes President and CEO of Porsche Canada

The President and CEO of Porche Canada drove into Waterloo Region today to talk cars.

Alexander Pollich was the guest speaker at the Oktoberfest President’s Invitational Luncheon.

He spent the lunch hour talking about the sports car brand and the humble beginnings from a family company to the worldwide symbol people now know as Porsche.

Pollich also talked about the company’s desire to be more sustainable, adding that they’re moving towards immobility.

“We’re the only manufacturer that has three plug-in hybrid electric vehicles in the model line so far” says Pollich. “So for us this is very imporatnt. It’s about sustainability. We need to be responsible for future generations, and we have to be really careful with the resources.”

Pollich also talked about growing up in Germany, adding that it’s practically impossible to avoid oktoberfest celebrations.

“I’m absolutely familiar with beer halls and that kind of stuff” says Pollich. “Basically if you’re born and raised in Germany, there’s no way around fests like this quite frankly.”
