A potential strike at the University of Guelph has been averted.
The union representing administrative, technical and teaching support staff has reached a tentative agreement with the university.
About 900 workers, members of United Steelwokers Local 4120, could have walked off the job over the weekend had a deal not been reached.
Details of the pact will not be released until after it’s been ratified by workers and the school.
The agreement was hammered out with the help of a provincially appointed mediator.
