Construction to start on $187 million re-development at CMH

Construction can now begin on the Cambridge Memorial Hospital.CMH and Infrastructure Ontario announced today that the hospital has signed a fixed price contract.

The deal is with Bondfield Construction and means that the $187 million expansion and re-development can begin immediately.

Through a combination of renovations and new construction, the hospital will see an increase in up to 52 beds for a total of up to 197 beds.

Once complete, the hospital will have expanded clinical services in its emergency department, surgery and mental health. As well, it will have expanded clinical support services in its laboratory and diagnostic imaging.

Patrick Gaskin, President and CEO of the hospital says, “This is a thrilling day for the hospital and the communities of Cambridge and North Dumfries. In five short years, our patients will have access to expanded services in a brand new, modern hospital that is designed to meet our growing communities’ needs for generations to come.”
