Whaley files nomination papers

A Waterloo City Councillor is seeking re-election in the upcoming municipal election.
Mark Whaley announced Friday morning that he’s looking to hold onto his Ward 5 seat.
In a statement released to the media, he says, “After three terms in office I remain as committed to the work as ever. By now I understand the dedication required to take on this important role. I feel ready to continue to take the time necessary to understand the issues and be prepared to make the decisions required to move Waterloo forward.”
He says there will be many new faces around the horseshoe next term, and that his experience will prove useful.
