Trussler Road is set to get a bit of a facelift – repaving and repairs – but there’s no plan for another Highway 401 interchange.
Regional officials looked at adding an interchange along the 401 west of Highway 8 at Trussler Road a few years ago.
Manager of Strategic Transportation Planning, Paula Sawicki tells 570 News it’s not in the latest plan – approved in 2010.
“We did recommend that we look at improved access to the 401, long-term we’re going to need some. But at this time, we can’t justify them because the demand isn’t high enough.”
Result are garnered through traffic studies that focuses on volume and commuter feedback.
Sawicki says high level master plans are done every four or five years – with the next one scheduled for next year.
