North Bay to play for OHL title

The North Bay Battalion completed the sweep Wednesday night over Oshawa to capture the Bobby Orr Trophy in the OHL’s Eastern Conference Championship.

The final was 3-2, the winning goal coming from Jamie Lewis. One of the assists went to Waterloo native Kyle Wood.

Former Kitchener Rangers forward Ben Thomson also assisted on the first goal for the Troops.

It marks just the second time in Battalion franchise history the club has captured the Bobby Orr Trophy. A capacity crowd
of over 4,200 was on hand at the North Bay Memorial Gardens.

The Storm can finish off Erie in five games in the Rogers Western Conference Championship Series with a win in Guelph  on Friday night. Sportsnet Ontario, East, West, and Pacific will broadcast the game at 7pm EST.

The winner of the Rogers OHL Championship Series will head to May’s Memorial Cup in London.
